{"id":14538,"date":"2022-11-11T09:02:02","date_gmt":"2022-11-11T08:02:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.conze.com\/?post_type=cases&#038;p=14538"},"modified":"2022-11-11T10:58:52","modified_gmt":"2022-11-11T09:58:52","slug":"eizo-or-monitor","status":"publish","type":"cases","link":"https:\/\/conze.com\/en\/unternehmen\/case-studies\/eizo-or-monitor\/","title":{"rendered":"Gesture Controller with Microsoft Kinect for EIZO OR Monitor"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>A showcase for MEDICA<\/h5>\n<p>EIZO GmbH, specifically its Operating Rooms department, was considering demonstrating contactless gesture control for its CuratOR Surgical Panel (a customisable wall console for clinical use) as a showcase at MEDICA 2015 in D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>\n<h5>Hands on oder eher &#8222;HandsUp&#8220; f\u00fcr CONZE<\/h5>\n<p>The goal was to develop a fault-tolerant gesture and voice control concept that would allow the user to switch between different signal layouts from a variety of image sources. These signal layouts were meant to be processed and merged by the EIZO Large Monitor Manager (LMM). The controller software should be activated with a simple \u201cHandsUp\u201d gesture or voice command. A swiping gesture or voice command was supposed to linearly switch between the layouts.<\/p>\n<h5>Analytical approach with practical result<\/h5>\n<p>Zu Beginn galt es, verschiedene Sensoren und Technologien zu evaluieren und f\u00fcr den klinischen Anwendungsfall zu bewerten. Hierzu wurden u.a. folgenden Sensoren betrachtet: Microsoft Kinect, Leap Motion, und Thalmiclabs MYO. Mit der von CONZE entwickelten Software f\u00fcr Windows 8, wurde die geforderte Gesten- und Sprachsteuerung auf Basis einer C#-Entwicklung in Verbindung mit einem intuitiven User Interface (WPF-GUI) realisiert.<\/p>\n<p>Die Wischgesten mussten vor Codierung in Position und Abfolge definiert sowie der genaue Startpunkt und Route festgelegt werden. Zur Definition wurden die Skelettmodelle des Microsoft Kinect Sensors genutzt und die Wege der einzelnen Gelenke als Basis f\u00fcr die Wischgeste berechnet. Dank genauer Unterscheidung der Modelle k\u00f6nnen bis zu 4 Personen gleichzeitig erfasst werden.<\/p>\n<p>Die Aktivierung der Sprachsteuerung startet mit \u201eHey CuratOR\u201c. Die Layoutumschaltung kann der User per \u201eback \/ next\u201c Befehl ansto\u00dfen. Die Befehle wurden aufgrund leichterer Verst\u00e4ndlichkeit auf Englisch programmiert.<\/p>\n<p>Die Kommunikation zwischen der Gesture Controller Software und dem anzeigenden LMM erfolgt \u00fcber eine konfigurierte HTTP \u2013 Schnittstelle.
