Candera CGI Studio – Blood Analyzer

  • CONZE evaluated Candera CGI Studio to determine its suitability for efficient embedded HMIs in medical technology. The application scenario was a mobile blood analyzer based on a Raspberry Pi 4.
  • As part of the evaluation, CONZE designed and developed a complete user interface. It guides users step by step through the analysis process and displays the results directly on the integrated screen.
  • Für eine ansprechende Menüführung und Ergebnisdarstellung wurden individuelle UI-Komponenten realisiert.
  • A 3D animation helps pass the time while the analysis is running, thereby noticeably reducing the perceived wait time until the results are available, all while maintaining a consistently high frame rate.

Why Candera CGI Studio?

Candera CGI Studio is a scalable, hardware-independent HMI development tool for embedded devices. It is well-established in the automotive sector and is also targeting other industries, such as medical technology. The evaluation revealed the following advantages:

  • Early iteration without target hardware: The integrated desktop simulation made it possible to evaluate UI concepts and menu navigation and iterate quickly even before the device hardware was available.
  • High-Performance 2D/3D Rendering: The rendering engine renders the 3D background animation smoothly even on resource-constrained, low-cost hardware such as the Raspberry Pi 4.
  • Hardware independence: The broad support for various MCUs and MPUs allows for early performance benchmarks on the respective target platform and keeps hardware selection options open for a long time.
  • Efficient Designer-Developer Workflow: Separating design from application logic enables UI design and HMI development to proceed in parallel within a compact team.
